What courses can i do with fresh tracks for my skills section?
Enroll with us for your skills section and see your confidence and ability in the kitchen grow. Our online cookery courses are the perfect choice for either your Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh award. Learn how to make delicious food and start your journey to becoming a chalet host or simply a better cook.
We have two online courses for you to chose from:
Aspiring Chalet Cooks Level 1
Aspiring Chalet Cooks Level 2 (coming soon!)
You can either complete them as a stand alone courses or you can start with level 1 and move onto level 2 which will build on the cookery skills you have developed in level 1. Both courses have easy to follow recipe cards and written instructions are accompanied by our video tutorials, delivered by our cookery school tutors, Steve and Becky. Each course is 13 weeks with a new recipe for you to complete each week. You will be able upload your pictures so we can see what delicious food you have made and upon completion of the three month course, we will issue an assessors report and certificate.
…what will I learn to cook?
We have designed these courses to help spark your passion for cooking and hosting dinner parties. Maybe you have heard about chalet hosting or even stayed in a catered chalet on a skiing trip, or maybe you are just keen to improve your cooking skills. Either way these courses are a great way to improve and find out more about how to prepare and serve delicious food.
Here are a few examples of things you will get to cook in either the Level 1 or Level 2 course:
The skills section of the DofE award helps participants discover their potential, nurture a personal interest, and develop practical or social skills. Participants can choose an online cookery course to achieve this goal. The key requirements are:
Duration: - chose the length of time depending on the award level you are seeking to achieve (Bronze, Silver or Gold).
Commitment: spend at least one hour per week on your chosen activity.
Assessment: set goals and have your progress verified.
Evidence: log your progress, including taking photos, making notes, and achieving certificates.
